How Smart Lock Patio Door Works (Bluetooth Model Access and Security)

A) How does the automatic lock work? Is my door secured when I leave the house?

When the Bluetooth connection is lost, it locks automatically. So you can always be sure that your patio doors are locked when you are not at home.

After this, you cannot unlock the door using the UNLOCK button. Your door is therefore secured against uninvited guests being able to get out.

When you get home, your Smartphone connects and locks automatically and you can use the UNLOCK button.

B) Can the lock be deactivated so that it does not lock automatically?

The lock can be put into a state we call "Homelock". Here the lock will not lock when the Bluetooth connection is lost. The UNLOCK button is always active, so you can lock and unlock directly on the lock. You can also unlock via your app. See app guide, click here

C) Can I use the Smart Lock Patio Door with an outside handle and unlock from the outside?

Yes, if you have an outside handle on your door, you can unlock it from the outside with the app.

D) How many users can be connected to a lock?

The number of users is unlimited. You are approved as a user by entering a 5-digit code for each lock. The code is chosen by the person who installs the lock.

E) How many smartphones can be connected to a lock?

Up to 4 phones can be connected at a time. Regardless of which phone is connected to the locks, everyone can operate the lock via the UNLOCK button on the lock or using the app.

F) How many locks can be connected to a smartphone?

There are no restrictions on how many locks can be connected.

G) How do others access my lock?

Anyone can access your locks if they have the code. You choose the code yourself when you install the lock. The chosen code can be seen in your app.

H) How long do the batteries in the lock last? And will I be warned when they are running low?

The battery life is approx. 2 years. Yes, you are warned via your app well in advance before the batteries need to be replaced. If the batteries reach a critically low level, the lock cannot lock.

I) How is the security when I have an outside handle, can't you just hack in?

The code that you choose during installation consists of 5 digits. So if you don't know the code, there are 100,000 combinations. If you guess incorrectly, the lock disconnects the Bluetooth connection for 20 seconds. If you try again with an incorrect code, you have to wait 1 minute before the lock will connect to a Smartphone. If you enter an incorrect code for the third time, you have to wait 2 minutes. We call this a time-out. This time-out increases each time you enter an incorrect code. If you guess incorrectly 14 times, there is a time-out of more than 3 days. In other words, you have to wait more than 3 days before the lock allows a smartphone to connect. However, you can always remove the batteries, which will reset the time-out. Please note that in order to remove the batteries, you must be inside the house.

J) What distinguishes the Secuyou Smart Lock from other products?

Secuyou Model Access is the only product on the market that gives you keyless access from the outside. You should choose Model Access if you have or want to install an external handle. Then you can use your App to unlock from the outside and share your code with others.

If you want to use Homey PRO, you must select Model Access.

Secuyou Model Security is a cheaper version than Model Access. But it does not allow access from the outside via your App. So you should choose Model Security if you do not have or want an external handle. Should you later regret it, You can always upgrade the lock with a software update if you want access from the outside (this update only works with iOS / Apple phones).

You use Secuyou Model Matter with your favorite Smart Home Apps, such as Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Alexa, etc. You must use a HUB with Thread Border Router that connects to Smart Lock Matter.
